Jujuba plays a funky, danceable style of Nigerian Afrobeat and Juju music. The strength of the 10-piece revolves around its energetic cohesion between percussion, rhythm and horn sections. The band features Nojeem Lasisi from Igbo Ora, Oyo State, in Nigeria. He ranks among the world’s elite talking drum players. Nojeem was given his first drum at age four by his father, also a master drummer, who handed down to Nojeem its powerful language. As a member of Nigerian superstar King Sunny Ade's group, the African Beats, Nojeem toured the world and appears on numerous recordings with King Sunny, including "Seven Degrees North" and "Odu”. Our May Tuesday residency is a dance floor burning good time-- perfect for these warming Spring eves! Led by bassist Brett McConnell since 2017, Brett's House Party features a unique sound of electronic drums, multiple synths, two basses, lap steel guitar, and the inimitable Aniana on vocals. BHP’s live show emulates a house DJ’s sets with nonstop music and minimal tempo variations. Every set is completely different, yet always relentless. And the most impressive part? It's 100% improvised! Don't miss out! $8

For the final show in the monthly UNGULIT series, members of Yak Attack collaborate with good friends and pillars of our Portland music scene hat contribute mightily to shows off the stage. Mitch Melheim has been a core member of the Yak family for years. He is a music afficionado, lighting designer, tour manager, marketing director, and for this show is performing on stage for a hybrid DJ/live show with members of Yak. Mitch brings his DJ chops, curation, and excellent musical sensibility to the chaos of improvised flow that embodies a Yak show. Expect a journey through psych, IDM, and all kinds of hybrid genres mashed up and stretched to the limit, with special guests from our wonderful community. $10

Portland's Flying Caravan crafts whimsical soundscapes that drift through cloud castles and rivers of rainbows. Led by the ethereal vocals of Azzy Isabell, the band fuses psychedelic melodies, deep grooves, and celestial rhythms. Their songs are crafted from a rich blend of vibrato vocals fluttering alongside electric guitars, keys, bass, percussion, and drum kit swirling together within a dance of interplay. Flying Caravan’s second studio album was recently released at the end of 2025. Step aboard and let the music carry you. Tonight they are joined by The Marcelo Guitron Band (of Family Mystic fame)! $10

Skyler Squglio (guitarist of Free Creatures, Skyler and the Sketchy Kids, 100 Watt Mind) is elated to join forces with his long time friends and colleagues: super shredder bassist Jacob Rubanowitz (Yak Attack) technical Time Machine drummer Julian Koell (Yak Attack) and virtuoso keys master Dave Dernovsek (Yak Attack) for an evening of improvisational jams along side danceable funk grooves and fun, original songs. All who come should be prepared for a night of insatiable dance lust as this band opens up a portal of fun, funky, psychedelic magick before your very eyes. You’ve been warned! $10

A product of playing together in numerous live situations, greaterkind's music is rooted in improvisation, which brings a different and special energy to each show. We're delighted to be hosting PDX bluegrass sensations, Band of Comerados, for the next three first Thursdays of the month (May-July)! Since 2015 and extending far into the future, Band of Comerados plays music that makes you feel good. Call it bluegrass, jamgrass, folk, or indie, what sets the band apart is their intricate instrumentation, dual vocal parts, intense improvisational jams and the fact that these guys have so much damn fun when they’re playing live music! In between traveling up and down the West Coast in 2022, BoC managed record two albums. Grass Half Full is the newest full length album, containing 11 songs. Tonight they are joined by the Chickenshit Gamblers! $15

Ramblin' Rose has been a stalwart of the PDX Grateful Dead scene for as long as we've been a venue and tonight they celebrate 25 years of providing good ol'Grateful fun! Come down to see your friends, raise a toast, sing along and dance a little bit! $8

Moon Music is the love child of guitarist Dan Duval and saxophonist/singer Chelsea Luker. Both artists have spent their lifetime devoted to jazz, funk and rock. Now they present to you music from the cosmos, filled with delay driven ambience and dreamy melodies. This evening they are debuting their newest single and have added keyboard maestro Asher Fulero to the mix. Super Secret Band closes out the night with a signature high energy set! $10
