What began as essentially a goof in 2012 – a chance to throw down some familiar dancey beats and jam for whoever felt like listening - ultimately lit a spark under the off-the-radar powder keg of Phish fans in Portland, and with that Shafty was born!. Classic Phish gimmicks are in full force: trampolines, megaphones, choreographed dances, vacuum cleaner solos, instrument switching, and the secret language are alive and well at a Shafty show. The band's songlist evolves along side Phish's growing catalog. Now at over 300 songs performed, the repertoire includes brand new Phish material such as Turtle in the Clouds, Say it to Me SANTOS, Mercury, The Howling and more! A notable "Story of the Ghostbusters" mashup made news on JamBase.com, and the usual hijinks of slicing, dicing, and unpredictably rearranging songs continues. $12

Billy and the Box Kid emerged as a duo in the Bend open mic scene when singer-songwriter Anderson Koenig (also known as Billy) and Scottie McClelland (the Box Kid) collided, both searching for an outlet for their musical talent. They combined Koenig's fast-paced acoustic country Rock and Roll with McClelland's high-energy and distinctive style of playing the Cajon aka "box drum". The band has since expanded into a four-piece with the addition of Tommy Lutz on mandolin and Ben Woessner on bass, along with other members of the Bend music community, they create a unique sound for the group. Their music is influenced by 1950s rock and roll, country, and bluegrass, with a hint of Southern blues. $8
