Skyler Squglio (guitarist of Free Creatures, Skyler and the Sketchy Kids, 100 Watt Mind) is elated to join forces with his long time friends and colleagues: super shredder bassist Jacob Rubanowitz (Yak Attack) technical Time Machine drummer Julian Koell (Yak Attack) and virtuoso keys master Dave Dernovsek (Yak Attack) for an evening of improvisational jams along side danceable funk grooves and fun, original songs. Laugh Basement, our weekly stand-up comedy showcase hosted by Hewitt Pagenstecher and DJ Bholt, is back with headliner Trixie Toboot! Trixie spent 20 years as one of the featured front-line performers in the comedy favorite group The Hallelujah Chorus. Known for big laughs, audience sing-alongs and unforgettable stage energy, she recently returned to performing with appearances here at Laugh Basement, with standing ovations and amazing audience reactions. Now headlining on her own, Trixie brings sharp comedy, music, and fearless fun to the stage, while proudly recognizing songwriter Andi Otness for the original music that helped build the show’s legacy. Monday’s show also features comedians Ryan Danley, Milo Loza, Timothy Blackton, Jaren George, and special guests! $10
June Tuesdays are looking damn good! Channeling elements of jazz fusion and funk with undertones of R&B, gospel and hip hop, greaterkind sets out to do something fresh. A product of playing together in numerous live situations, greaterkind's music is rooted in improvisation, which brings a different and special energy to each show. Space and creation is key to process. The band includes Charlie Brown (keyboards), Cory Limuaco (drums), Ian "Yuck" Lindsey (bass) and Peter Knudsen (guitar/bass/vocals). $8
We're delighted to be hosting PDX bluegrass sensations, Band of Comerados, for the next three first Thursdays of the month (May-July)! Since 2015 and extending far into the future, Band of Comerados plays music that makes you feel good. Call it bluegrass, jamgrass, folk, or indie, what sets the band apart is their intricate instrumentation, dual vocal parts, intense improvisational jams and the fact that these guys have so much damn fun when they’re playing live music! In between traveling up and down the West Coast in 2022, BoC managed record two albums. Grass Half Full is the newest full length album, containing 11 songs. Tonight they are joined by the Chickenshit Gamblers! $15
