He ranks among the world’s elite talking drum players. Nojeem was given his first drum at age four by his father\, also a master drummer\, who handed down to Nojeem its powerful language. DESCRIPTION:It’s Last Thursday and time for another art opening in the upstairs pub/gallery! Our in-house art director\, Jason Brown\, has put together a fantastic show featuring the works for andyvanoverberghe\, Jasmine Star and Samantha Fisher. As always the show is free and all art is available for purchase. Swing by for some culture\, some drink and some tunes from DJ Kaeli Hertz! FREE!! \n\n\n\nandyvanoverberghe \n\n\n\nDrawing is my meditation. It is a documentation of my journey and a catalogue of growth and adaptation. Disciplines\, studies\, inspirations\, and interests from a wide variety of philosophies\, spiritualities\, sciences\, and fantasies fuse in the balance of my creative process. Every element is a symbol or representation of an idea. Like cogs on gears all lines work together to form patterns. Visual textures mimic patterns of nature and of thought. Free flowing ideas with regard to an organic canvas and loose expressive line work. A gathering of lines like atoms forming matter. Lines forming patterns. Patterns forming texture. Textures forming shapes. Shapes forming thought. Thought forming stories. Every story has emotion. Every story has a purpose\, a lesson\, and life.  The Tattoo Series is a Special Print Collection of 23 anatomical tattoo concepts created from 2011-2021. Applying lines\, patterns\, and texture to the expressive forms and shapes of human anatomy has always been a great interest. The majority of these pieces originally sold here at the Goodfoot and this is the first time the entire collection has re-shown together in one place. \n\n\n\nMike Skrzynski \n\n\n\n“For nearly 20 years I’ve worked in multimedia\, design\, photography\, video\, animation\, and the fine arts. The one thing that remains consistent is drawing and illustration. I often lean toward whimsical and anthropomorphic characters in my work. It’s fun and exciting to visualize things that might otherwise not exist except in the mind’s eye.  Comics influenced me greatly in my youth. It was what I wanted to do before I ended up venturing in other directions. I’ve only recently come back to the medium. Yet\, standalone illustrations remain my preferred way to explore character development and storytelling.” \n\n\n\nSamantha Fishers  \n\n\n\nwork is inspired by nature and the energy surrounding all living things within the universe.  This series\, in particular\, explores balance\, symbolism\, and simplicity. The work plays with nostalgia\, environmental shifts and elegance.

DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to welcome PDX psychedelia purveyors\, Lost Ox\, to the lounge for our April Tuesday residency! Lost Ox\, known for combining elements of funk\, jazz\, Americana\, and progressive rock\, was formed in 2017. The band began as a musical friendship between bassist Reed Bunnell and guitarist Dylan DiSalvio that was forged in the Lewis & Clark College Jazz Studies program in 2011. What started as a psychedelic folk and blues rock band incubated and grew in the vibrant Portland music scene\, and developed into a genre-blending musical adventure. The band has carved out its niche\, crafting unique long-form classical influenced progressive rock songs with exciting and highly creative improvisational sections. $5 and up sliding scale.

DESCRIPTION:You may or may not learn anything with Mr. Vale’s Math Class but you’re guaranteed to have a good time. This six piece funk band has horns that knock down the door and percussion-laden grooves that are the perfect accompaniment to any dance party. While you’re at it\, come grab some pots and pans & join in. \n\n\n\n  Wichita’s Rudy Love & The Encore is comprised of Rudy Love Jr. (vocals & keys)\, MarrqueNunley (drums)\, Rachelle Love (percussion)\, Mariel Jacoda (vocals)\, Sherdeill (DJ) Breathett(bass)\, and Willy Simms (guitar). The band members have played together for most of their lives\, and formally introduced the band Rudy Love & The Encore early last year. Rudy Love Jr.’s late father\, renowned musician Rudy Love Sr.\, was a musical mentor to the band members. The band’s name is in honor of Love Sr.\, based on the idea that this grouping of musicians is Rudy Love Sr.’s legacy — his encore. $10
