The Goodfoot is proud to present new work and an installation by artists Klutch and Craig Dransfield. There will be an opening and artist's reception on Thursday, August 30th, from 5-11 PM. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ's monkeytek and Samizdat.
In April of 2005 the two met while each were painting rooms at San Francisco's renowned Hotel des Arts. Quickly realizing a shared working kinship they have since came together for several projects and planned this show while doing a mural project in Columbus last fall. For this show they will be working together to create a large mural comprised of painted cutouts created from wood and other salvaged materials. Both artists will also be showing a collection of their latest individual works.
Portland artist Klutch has been continually creating visual mischief since his involvement in the early 1980's punk and skateboard scenes, and he shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. His work has appeared in Time magazine, F*cked Up and Photocopied, The Art of Modern Rock, and The Art of Rebellion 2.
Craig Dransfield hails from Columbus, Ohio where he and his partner run Chop Chop, a thriving gallery and arts incubator. His work encompasses printmaking, sculpture, installations, murals and painting. In addition to his personal projects he has assisted art stars like Barry Mcgee and Claire Rojas with installations, and aided in the construction of Simparch's Freebasin skate bowl project that toured with the Beautiful Losers show.
