I've been doing collage of some sort for about 7yrs now. What started out as crafty fun eventually evolved into a sort of embellished/mixed media style of collage and then became more refined using only paper and getting more involved with layering and use of lighting, texture, tone and color to create as seamless of an image as possible. The goal being that it should look like it was meant to be it's own image before I cut things up to create it. If you can't figure out where the separate pieces begin and end, then I feel I've done a good job as far as how I crafted it, and I love that challenge - which is much like putting together a puzzle, but without the picture on the box to guide you.
