Jonathon Hill-Jacquard

Jonathon Hill-Jacquard immerses himself in a space where loud rockabilly and punk music nearly tear down the walls, scraps of paper and tape flood the floor, and chunks of wood, plastic, and other inanimate objects swamp work benches. While toiling over two or three projects at a time, there's always four other ideas forming in his head. Born is Alaska, Jonathon now lives in Portland and utilizes his time constructing an assortment of work, currently composed of wood and vinyl applique. Executed with non-traditional materials, his work documents his environment, experiences, and the people, places and things he has encountered over the years using symbolic imagery and text. When not pursuing his artistic endeavors, Jonathon enjoys reading comic books, dreaming of joining a biker gang in a post apocalyptic wasteland, subverting the robot race, wooing over tattooed ladies and staring longingly at 60's muscle cars.
