Born and raised in Boston, MA on a steady diet of punk rock, religious iconography and Boston Celtics pride... went on to graduate from the art institute of Boston while creating handbills and posters for punk rock shows... relocated to the west coast to design sneakers ...while designing posters for rock shows up and down the California coast... began creating sculptures and puppets for various film projects and art exhibits... has been extensively exhibiting mixed media art for the past 6 years in Los Angeles, San Fransico, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Portland, Seattle, Miami,and Austin. J. Shea recently relocated his studio to Portland, OR
